Placing a Graphic in your File
There a quite a few ways to import already existing artwork or graphics into your Photoshop document, there are quite a few ways to do it:-
Photoshop can accept external graphics wither as Smart objects or as raster layers.
The way to place these graphics is quite simple and is as follows.
Solution
Artwork from a Web Page
To copy artwork from a web page to a raster layer all you have to d is copy the work that you want to import and then select Edit > Paste or in you are on Mac then Ctrl-V. This will paste the work into your Photoshop document in a new layer or an previously selected one.
Artwork from Flattened Image Files
Images such as GIF, JPEG or PNG – have the work on one layer, for this you have to open the file though Photoshop and then make use of Select > A or alternatively Ctrl – A so as to select the whole document, paste it on the Photoshop by Ctrl or Edit > paste. This will also be a raster layer.
Layers from a Different Photoshop Document
First for this, we have to make sure that both the windows are open and visible, then after selecting from the window that u want the artwork, bring it to the layers palette. Then all you have to do is simple select and then drag whatever you need and then release. The layers copied will have all their original properties.
Open the illustrator and then select the work that you want to export, copy and paste, you will see a dialogue box, asking you the preference for pasting the work in various formats like smart object, path or shape layer. This hereafter you select the file >place and select the file, after which you simple place the file wherever you want it as a smart object.
